Even with the Web blackouts due to the proposed anti-piracy bills SOPA and PIPA, New Orleans had no trouble working its way in to online conversations. New Orleans hip hop makes a splash around the Web from the efforts and antics of Dee 1 and Big Freedia plus the dos and donts of dog tourism make an appearance. All of this and more in this week’s New Orleans Around the Web.

New Orleans bounce MVP Big Freedia makes the Pitchfork’s selective video series, demonstrating the unbelievable effects of her beats on the human body.

Some comic relief to those still in mourning about the New Orleans Saints’ defeat to the San Francisco 49ers.

A photographer who went to the recent Professional Photographers of America conference gushes about the food, music and spirit of New Orleans.

Massachusetts fans in town for the Sugar Bowl discovered they could not absorb New Orleans in three days and that they could eat like kings despite being kosher, contrary to what they were told.

Exotic  food adventurer Andrew Zimmern is to film a spot for his new Travel Channel show at the Crescent City Farmers Market on Thursday.

Everywhere in New Orleans is pretty much dog friendly, even bars except on Bourbon Street – unless of course you’re talking about the canine sanctuary Johnny White’s.

The vlog and biological brother of New York Times best-selling author John Green, Hank Green finds inspiration strolling about the French Quarter during a recent trip when he likens the target of the SOPA and PIPA anti online piracy proposed bills to the French Quarter with this eloquent analogy.

The previously mentioned brother of Hank Green, @realjohngreen, offers his thoughts on New Orleans: “Awesome show tonight in New Orleans. I love this town.”
