The name says it all: Joy. Everything emanating from the newly renovated, bright and shiny Joy Theater bringing sexy back to Canal Street is a reflection of what happiness means to New Orleans: artistic expression. After sitting vacant for eight years on one of New Orleans’ main strips, the new owners transformed it from a single screen theater to a multipurpose performance space. The stage is the limit at the Joy Theater. It’s a platform for entertainment of all kinds, including music, theater, fashion shows, comedy, drag shows, film – you name it. Their upcoming events are the Little River Band on Jan. 26 at 8:00 p.m. and Percy Sledge on Jan. 28 at 8:00 p.m. So go ahead, bring some Joy into your life.
