October in New Orleans is a pretty fantastic time weather-wise. Outdoor activity levels explode, as even the most staunch supporters of summer or winter agree October weather rocks. It’s the perfect time to grab the dogs and hit City Park. If you play your cards just right, you might be able to grab a little spot next to the Big Lake by the New Orleans Museum of Art and have a couple of beers with your friends. Thinking about that sounds pretty close to perfect, right? Then New Orleans on Tap is the event for you!
The folks at the Bulldog, one of New Orleans’ most dog friendly beer bars, have partnered with the La/SPCA, with the help of many more, to pull together one of the greatest fund raisers known to man. For the friendly four-legged attendees, a special play tent provides the dogs a great place to play with their friends, while the adoption tent gives everyone the opportunity to make a friend for life.
For the two-legged attendees, New Orleans On Tap features live music, classic festival foods and more than 200 beers to sip. Yeah, that wasn’t a typo. New Orleans On Tap promises us more than two hundred beers to sample. There will be beers from big breweries and little breweries, breweries from around the world, around the state and even the home brewers from around the corner. You know what’s even better than having more than 200 beers to sample? Knowing that each one you try helps the La/SPCA. On a perfect New Orleans October day, I don’t know that it gets much better than that.
What beers are you looking forward to trying? Let us know in the comments!
