Ever wonder how people lived in New Orleans back in pre-Civil War times, before there was a neon sign on Bourbon St. or when ‘The Saints’ referred to celestial icons, not a football team? Well, the 1850 House in the French Quarter provides a small, preserved glimpse of life in 19th Century New Orleans. As part of the Louisiana State Museum, the authentically furnished historic home is open for self-guided tours Tuesday-Sunday and makes for a perfect historic addition to your visit.
