Podcast: Play in new window
Robert Mercurio is the bassist for New Orleans-based bands Galactic and Good Enough For Good Times. As a Tulane University freshman, Mercurio was inspired by shows at Tipitina’s, hoping one day to be able to play onstage there. Now, he has not only fulfilled that dream, but he plays in nationally renowned bands! Galactic’s latest release, The Other Side of Midnight: Live in New Orleans, is one of my favorite albums of the year. If you want to check him out with Good Enough For Good Times, they’ll be playing a free show at Tipitina’s July 8th.

No matter who you’re are working with on vocals, you guys really have your sound down.
That’s good to hear. When we parted with Houseman, in 2004, it left us with a big question, “What are we going to do?” I think our fans kind of had that same feeling too, “What are we going to do?” We toured instrumentally for a while. We decided we were in an amazing position, really, that we could tour or record with any vocalist that we wanted.
