New Orleans based vocalist Margie Perez specializes in an inspiring blend of Blues, Pop, New Orleans Funk and Latin music. Originally from Washington DC, Perez went from attending the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival as a fan to performing live at Jazz Fest herself. Inspired by the way New Orleans musicians live and breathe music, she made the move down here in 2005. After years of gigs as a backup singer for such greats as Allen Toussaint, she branched out on her own and will be returning again as a Jazz Fest performer this year.
