in Events, Things To Do

You probably know this already, but it’s French Quarter Fest weekend in New Orleans. In fact, I hope you’re checking this on your phone or iPad standing in line for some alligator sausage on a stick while New Orleans music blares all around you. If you are, well, then you’re definitely winning at life right now. If not, have no fear because we’re stuffed to the gills with live New Orleans music all weekend long. And the music isn’t contained to the French Quarter, either.

Here are five great post-festival shows to see this weekend. Because the only thing better than a good thing is a whole lot more of it.

Thursday, April 7

Stooges Brass BandThe Stooges light up the Hi-Ho Lounge at 10 pm. If you haven’t seen them before, you’re in for a real treat. Their trademark high energy barn burner of a show blows the roof off any place they play.

ZydepunksIt’s kind of difficult to explain the unbelievably unique sound the Zydepunks have managed to nail down. Part punk, part German beer drinking music, 100 percent only in New Orleans, they’ll blow you away when they take the stage with My Graveyard Jaw at the Hi-Ho Lounge at 10 pm.
