New Orleans is chock full of streets with charming and eccentric names. When two such streets intersect, it is extra special. So the corner of Race and Religious Streets in the Lower Garden District, brings a smile to both the visitor and the local.
At this corner nestled along the riverfront of the New Orleans Garden District, there are two masonry homes built in the 1830′s: a two-story Creole cottage facing Religious Street, and a three-story Greek-revival rowhouse facing Race Street.

These two houses and their servants quarters, connected by an ancient brick courtyard, have been named “Race and Religious.” The grounds feature a fountain-surrounded pool, lush flora, and brick courtyards lit by the flicker of gas lamps. Additionally, the space includes two commercially-equipped kitchens, working fireplaces, interior and exterior speakers, balconies overlooking the courtyard and downtown New Orleans, and the option of two bedrooms.

The interior is uniquely New Orleans. High ceilings, exposed brick walls with fragments of old plaster clinging to them, ancient wood beams, hip vintage furnishings and art work – it all adds up to an unforgettable ambiance.

You can rent Race and Religious for a corporate get together, a bloggers meet-up, a bachelor/bachelorette party, a wedding party (and rehearsal dinner), or really for any party or special event.
