Southerners are keen on tradition, yet heartily embrace new talent that pays homage to their roots. A new clothing company that is already getting major press is based right here in New Orleans. Jolie Benson and Sarah Dewey celebrate the South with their clothing line Jolie & Elizabeth. Having met both of these ladies in person I can attest to how hard working and dedicated they are not only to their own brand but bettering their hometown as well.

Their designs are decidedly girly, but not sickly sweet. The Jolie & Elizabeth customer can go from a day tromping around in the swamp in hip waders to drinks at Cure later that evening all in the same breath. Think seersucker in the summer and taffeta confections in football team colors (Saints black and gold, LSU purple) in the fall months. This is a girl who isn’t afraid to show her pride!

Speaking of pride, nothing shows pride in New Orleans like having all of the pieces in the collection being made right here in Louisiana. Not only do the girls represent NOLA, but they give back by manufacturing right here instead of outsourcing the work elsewhere.
