Kermit Ruffins is one of New Orleans’ most well-known and passionate performers. Ruffins co-founded the Rebirth Brass Band, and currently leads his own group, Kermit Ruffins and the Barbecue Swingers. He also played himself on the HBO series Treme, mainly because there’s no substitute for the real thing. Ruffins plays Tuesday nights at Bullet’s and Thursday nights at Vaughn’s. You can find him just about everywhere else in the city any other night of the week.
