In New Orleans, the musicians love what they do. Often, they can’t even limit themselves to one band–and we’re certainly thankful for that!

Leo DeJesus is one such prolific up-and-coming local musician. He’s acted as the front man to indie rock group City Life. He’s the percussionist for Mynameisjohnmichael, which famously released one song a week for an entire year in 2008. And now DeJesus has created his own project: Vox and the Hound. According to DeJesus, he needed an outlet for songs that weren’t right for Mynameisjohnmichael but that were too great for him to forget. Skilled in the sounds of indie, folk, and country, many of the band’s members are working on multiple projects. However, they’ve come together, time and again, to play such venues as Republic New Orleans and the Foburg Festival. You can hear a sampling of Vox and the Hound’s music, for free, on their bandcamp site.
