The Soul Rebels are one of NOLA’s finest brass bands.  Blending the sounds of jazz, reggae, hip-hop, and some good old Mardi Gras Funk, the seven-piece ensemble’s sound is uniquely New Orleans and all its own.  Beginning as a marching band in the tradition of second lines and jazz funerals, the group eventually gathered a strong on-stage following.  Since their debut days of performing with the Neville Brothers at Tipitinas, The Soul Rebels have opened for such performers as Bootsy Collins, Counting Crows, James Brown, and The Roots.  They’ve also  traveled extensively all over the world–but in the end, the Crescent City is home, and you can catch them regularly at venues all over town.

Lumar LeBlanc is the group’s snare drummer and founder.
