Culture Collision 2009

We could all use a little culture shock every now and again. We get so set in our ways that we barely make time to venture and see what else is out there in the world.  If only there were a place that would allow you to infinitely expand your cultural boundaries while mixing and mingling with like-minded people.

Well, I have got you covered.

On Wednesday, September 1st, from 6-8pm, the New Orleans Museum of Art will play host to New Orleans’ 2nd Annual Culture Collision. This one of a kind event is your chance to check out all of what New Orleans’ cultural organizations have to offer.

Over 20 organizations varying from The Historic New Orleans Collection, the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra and the New Orleans Film Society will be on site to answer questions, preview upcoming exhibits/performances and offer ticket promotions.

Ralph’s on the Park, The American Sector, Eat NOLA, and Matt and Naddie’s will provide the food and several cash bars will also be available. And if that weren’t enough, you will be treated to live music performed by the Courtyard Kings.

In true New Orleans fashion, nothing ever just ends. There is ALWAYS an after-party. Once the event is over at 8pm, you can keep on mixing & mingling to the musical styling of DJ Matty in the Sculpture Garden.

Over 1300 people showed up to last year’s Culture Collision, and even more are expected at this year’s event. So, this will be the perfect place to mix, mingle, network, party and expand your cultural horizons all in one spot.

Best of all, this event is free to all Louisiana residents. What more do you need?

I hope to see you there!
