Any which way you look at it, New Orleans is a bargain. We’re a city full of fun things, places and people to see. Here are 5 things in the city for under $5.00.
1. Roman Candy is a New Orleans treat and tradition. Served from a wagon, the Roman Candy Man travels around the city selling the delicious taffy. Each stick is just $1.00 and come in vanilla, chocolate or strawberry.
2. Learn anything and everything you could ever want to know about Absinthe at the Absinthe Museum in the French Quarter. Admission is $5.00. (823 Royal Street)
3. Grab an adult bevie at Ms. Mae’s for just $1.50. You read that right, all day everyday (Ms. Mae’s is open 24-hours) you can get a well drink for just $1.50. (4336 Magazine Street)
4. Iced coffee is something New Orleans does better than, I’m willing to bet, any other city you’ll visit (trust me, I drink a lot of iced coffee). Grab an iced coffee from PJ’s (locations here), Still Perkin’ (2727 Prytania Street) CC’s (941 Royal Street) or Royal Blend (621 Royal Street)
5. Get a scoop of hand-crafted ice cream from Creole Creamery. With delicious and unique flavors like Doberge, Druken Kiwi, Chocolate Amaretto Cheesecake (my favorite) and Black and Gold Cruch, you can’t go wrong. One scoop is just $2.75. (4924 Prytania St or 6260 Vicksburg St)
