Sno balls, pools, vacations, what’s not to love about summer? Oh yeah, the heat. When dressing for high temperatures comfort almost always takes precedent over fashion.  The trick is to load up your wardrobe with great accessories that will turn that simple cotton dress into a great outfit.

Saints season starts up August 12 so get ready with Jean Therapy’s newest “game day” scarf. I know, a scarf in summer? Relax, this is a cotton and linen blend so it won’t weigh you down. The trick is to loosely drape the fabric so it doesn’t feel hot.

Hair accessories really help take the most basic outfit and transform it. Headbands and scarves are great at distracting from frizz, or the “hair halo” as I like to call it. The dragonfly headband from Urban Outfitters is sure to spruce up a tank top and shorts.

It doesn’t get any sweeter than Mignon Faget’s sno ball pendant. Remind yourself to stay cool and frequent your favorite sno ball stand by wearing this necklace.

Add a dash of color to your outfit with nail polish. Pedicures are more fun with these matte colors from American Apparel.
