Watching Treme In New Orleans

HBO’s newest hit, Treme, is making quite a splash. Nationwide critics are calling it a hit, the latest from David Simon of The Wire fame. Here in New Orleans, we hear the buzz on the corners, at the grocery store, at bars and walking around town. Everyone is buzzing about the show, the music or local cuisines it featured that week, the star sightings around town or the traffic delays caused by filming. Mostly people talk about how good it is to have a major ongoing production being filmed in town and the jobs it provides. Regardless of the why or how, not everyone has access to HBO to see the finished product!

Plus, we think a Sunday night adventure sounds like a great way to cap off a weekend. How much fun does it sound to go out and watch Treme in a neighborhood bar or go for a drink afterward to discuss what happened in the latest episode?

We’ve compiled a list of bars that are known to show Treme on Sunday nights, so whether you venture out to a new neighborhood or one of these spots is just around the corner from you, here are spots off the beaten tourist track where New Orleans is up close and personal. While the show starts at 9pm, this is New Orleans after all, so show up early, grab a cocktail and a good spot and get ready for the best TV you’ll see all week.

Do you know of other places where Treme is being broadcast? Let us know and we’ll include them in future posts!
